Transom mount is one of the most popular transducers but thru-hull and in-hull transducers can also be used depending on your type of boat and requirements.
The
transom mount transducer is fixed to the transom of the boat and will most likely to be used on smaller boats with an inboard/outboard drive.
The
thru-hull transducer goes through the hull. The face of the transducer is outside the hull and the stem of the transducer is inside the hull. Most likely used on medium size boats with an inboard drive or shaft drive.
The
in-hull transducers are mounted inside the hull. Best for fiberglass boats, smaller boats or high speed boats who may not have space for a thru-hull transducer or want to avoid drag.
